My name is Connar Abrams and my "Why" is what pushed me to start this journey as a Fitness Coach. I have grown up around sports my whole life, playing multiple at a time during my youth. Lacrosse, Hockey, Rugby, Basketball, Soccer and the list goes on and on. Lacrosse was always the one that had stuck with me. It opened up multiple doors for me throughout my life. As a teenage athlete I never took weight lifting and training seriously. While I was in between university in West Virginia and home for holidays, I never got into a proper routine. Even after graduating university, my gym stints were very sporadic. I would get into a good routine and fade away from it for a while. This was an on going pattern. Throughout this time, I had dealt with multiple injuries such as bulging discs in the Lumbar portion of my spine, partially torn groins and the occasional ankle sprain. I played these injuries off with a victims mentality, which I now regret all the time. If I could go back and change how I treated my body throughout these years, I would 100%. I was the guy messing around not stretching before and after practice. The guy that didn't care about form in the weight room, just wanted to try and lift as much as possible. Now its all caught up to me and the worst part is I can't go back and change any of it. But I can change some things; which includes how I train for my future self.
Nowadays, most of my time is spent in the gym and playing/coaching lacrosse. The kids I have had the opportunity to coach have definitely played a big role in my life and choosing this Fitness Coach path. I've been lucky enough to grow my coaching career with a great group of young athletes. Some of these athletes are already looking at universities and I swear I get more excited for them then they are of the opportunity. This in turn has opened up my eyes to this career path. I want to be able to help as many people as I can reach their fitness goals, not just young athletes. Helping someone achieve their goal and transform their body in a positive way is what drives me to be the best version of myself, and therefore, hopefully the best version of you.
My "Why" is you.
